Napolitano on immigration: enforcement first, reform later

The New York Times reports that

A day after President Obama announced that legislation to overhaul immigration laws would have to wait until next year, the secretary of homeland security played down the need for change in a speech [in El Paso] and took a tough stance on enforcing current immigration laws.

The El Paso Times reports that Napolitano, the Secretary for Homeland Security, said:

Any changes to immigration laws would include citizenship opportunities.

But the details of Obama’s immigration reform policies will not be unveiled until January, Napolitano said.
