Atlanta, Baltimore officials endorse immigration reform

Examiner.com reports that the Baltimore City Council unanimously voted to support comprehensive immigration reform in a motion on Monday night.

… in a bold, unprecedented action, the Baltimore City Council gave unanimous approval to the motion to support President Obama’s proposed Comprehensive Immigration Reform. The motion, originated by Councilwoman Spector, is the first step in the road to the ultimate goal: obtaining congressional approval of this legislation.

The Associated Press reports, via WCRBTV.com, that local law enforcement officials and religious leaders in Georgia are calling for comprehensive immigration reform.

Law enforcement officials, including Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington, said immigration reform would improve the security of local communities by creating trust between officers and immigrants.

Hat tip to CLINIC.
